AFRICA FOOD HEROES AWARD 2025
World Food Day is celebrated annually on October 16th to raise awareness about global food security issues, hunger, and nutrition. The day aims to:
- Promote Food Security: Ensure everyone has access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food.
- Reduce Hunger: Address the root causes of hunger and malnutrition.
- Improve Nutrition: Educate people about the importance of healthy eating habits.
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations established World Food Day in 1945 to commemorate its founding. Each year, the FAO chooses a theme to highlight pressing issues related to food security and sustainability.
This years theme: “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future“. To commemorate this years event, the Centre for Agropreneurship and Green Economy will be presenting various categories of Food Heroes Award to Men and Women who have Distinguish themselves in different Agricultural Sectors across Africa.
